Card Making

Scrappy Backgrounds

Today’s tutorial on OWH was using your scraps to make a background for your card. I have used this technique many times but my battery has been recharged to use up more  scraps and as suggested in the tutorial, after making the card base, set them aside to use later (love, love, love this suggestion).

I was happy to use up these “animal prints” for my cards today. The stamps used are from Technique Tuesday called Animal House. Also, after applying the strips of scraps over the card base and running through the cuttlebug, I sponged Frayed Burlap Distress Ink all over the card. I used Spellbinders Distress Card Creator to stamp the sentiment on, left it in the die while I sponged Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

This card I used Spellbinders Postage Card Creator Dies and did same as above with the sponging, added twine to attach the sentiment.

  1. The chevron is so great…I like the way you used patterns in the design. Great cards.
