I don’t know about you, but when I think too hard about a card, I stress myself out and really stop enjoying the process. Having these sketches makes it so much easier and more enjoyable. This weeks sketch:
I used coordinating papers that I’ve had for a long time. The stamp and sentiment are from GinaK (Green Thumb Diva). I tried to incorporate some repetition (Paula’s Let Me Repeat Bootcamp) by paper piecing the diva’s pants. I stamped the diva to the right of the panel so I could fit the sentiment. When I finished the coloring and stamping the sentiment I had this empty space, so I moved two buttons over and I think it works.
Still learning the photo process with the blog. I’m not liking how my photos turn out. I’ve taken a few courses in Photoshop Elements and am applying all that I’ve learned but somehow they are still not turning out as bright or as large as I’d like — perhaps it is my makeshift lightbox. May have to invest in something.
Love the green and orange color combination, and the offset buttons are so cute!
Thanks so much.
The colors on the card look good! I scan my cards and sometimes the colors just don’t scan correctly. Good idea placing the buttons in the empty spot. And I love the paper piecing 🙂
Thanks so much. Thanks for the scanning tip, too. I’ll have to try that. It’s all a learning process for me but I love it and am meeting great, caring and sharing card makers like you!
Super card! I really like the papers that you used and the paper piecing looks great. Very good idea to use the buttons on the card.
Thank you so much.
I adore the colors in your card– and paper piecing adds nice dimension without bulk! Great job! I use macro and zoom on my camera to get in really close and I too use a light tent… sometimes I still need to brighten it up in my photo editing program. I still struggle to take good pictures!
Thanks Diane. Thanks for the photo tips as well. It’s frustrating but also I am having a great time learning all these new things – blogging, photographing for the web, photo editing and meeting new card making friends.
