OWH Midweek Challenge – Dry Embossing

I’ve made my goal — 365 cards for OWH for 2013 (this does not include any hero cards). I am so excited that I made my goal – with plenty of time to spare. I will be sending off 100 cards to OWH tomorrow – for the December 31, 2013 deadline for Valentine’s/Love cards.

I love how dry embossing can add a finished look to a card or when a card just needs a little something extra you can either dry emboss part of it, an element in it or the whole thing. Here are some cards I’ve made using dry embossing.

This card I embossed (Cuttlebug D’vine Swirls) and then used a brayer to apply the blue ink. This card was based on OWH Sketch #95

This card is sketch #93 and the embossing (Cuttlebug Stars) is on the strip behind the two patterned pieces.

This card is sketch #91 and I embossed the card (Cuttlebug Stars) after it was put together. The sentiment is computer generated.

This card I cut out the three hearts using Spellbinders, then stamped a little heart from Stamps of Life upside down for the stem and then hand drew lines for the strings. Then from the Cuttlebug Simply Charmed set of 4 embossing folders I used the check background to emboss the panel; the strip of paper was fed through a die from the Spellbinders Postage card creator. I did not use any sentiment on purpose so this could be used for any occasion or even as a child’s card.

And this last card I embossed the card panel with Darice Dot Point embossing folder. The pinwheel is from Stamps of Life.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day.

  1. All great cards. Love those balloons and the way you made them. Great job with that. congrats on making your goal. I’m ashamed to say I did not come close to my goal this year. I just could not get into card making this past summer which really hurt mygoal count. Enjoy your day.
