Cards In Envy Challenge

I was so happy to have a chance to make a few cards today. This one is for the November 16th Challenge over at Cards In Envy (put some extra layers on). You can interpret the layers anyway you choose. It was a little challenging because you can’t add too many layers on the card because the blog challenges are all about keeping the thickness of your card less than 1/4″. So I chose to use this cute colored ugly sweater image from Deedee’s Digis (which I won back in August).  The company is having an end of the year sale — 75% off. So if you need a few digis in your arsenal you may want to check it out. This card will be going off to  Send A Smile 4 Kids.

The sentiment Tis the Season is from Deedee’s; to Rock the Ugly Sweater was done in word and I found it somewhere on Pinterest. I used Prismacolor pencils to fill in the sentiment.

I added the snowflake sticker to balance out the empty space and then glammed it up a bit with more stickers and glossy accents on the sweater cuffs and neck, the reindeer’s nose, ears, antlers and belly. The dp is from Stamps of Life – the stark white background needed softening so Tumbled Glass Distress Ink was used to sponge in the area. The image panel was also sponged along the edges. Kraft cardstock was used to coordinate with the color of the reindeer.

Thanks for stopping by. I can’t believe this is my first post for November!
