Down for the Count at Christmas Bah Humbug

December 1, 2017 I started feeling a heaviness in my chest, sore throat and coughing. On Saturday December 2, 2017, I woke up with the worst cough I have ever had in my life. Every muscle used for coughing was hurting. I never realized how many muscles are used. I suffered the weekend and went to my Doctor on Monday – I was prescribed predisone and inhalers. For ten days I sat up straight on my sofa buffered by pillows and blankets. If I lay down to rest all I did was wheeze and cough. By Friday I was no better, I called my Dr and they prescribed a cough medicine and an antibiotic. Still feeling no better by Monday I called another Doctor and they saw me right away — did two breathing treatments, prescribed stronger predisone and the save all was cough medicine with codeine. In one day I was on the mend (I swear it was the breathing treatments).

So here I am at Christmas, no shopping done, no decorating done, and of course no cards made except for those I have been making throughout the summer.

Here is a card I would like to share at Tuesday Throwdown. (Anthing Goes).

The stamps are from Stampendous (Snowy Short Stack) and I fussy cut them out. The papers are from Recollections, the Embossing Folder is from Sizzix. I used Oxide Inks on the Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from a Recollections stamp called Merry Winter.

I would also like to participate in the last challenge at SAS4KIDS this year which is winter fun for kids.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Oh my gosh, those breathing treatments and that cough syrup are lifesavers in my book. Happy to read you are in on the mend. Even happier you joined in the Tuesday Throwdown challenge with this cutie. Can’t help but smile. Merry Christmas and continued healing.

  2. Adorable card. Sounds like you’ve had a bad stretch. Hope your recovery continues and you’ll be fit as a fiddle for 2018. Target has a whole aisle of gift cards – one stop shopping for people who’ve had a pre-Christmas illness. Take care. Germ-free hugs from the littlest Musketeer.
