I have always loved watching birds especially when they build their nests. When I was a kid we had so many robins in our yard that every spring we always found robins eggs in their nests (never touched them). When the Hero Arts February 2018 Kit arrived I was very excited. Wow so many stamps with matching dies.
This week’s challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown is this sketch.
Using the Hero Arts February 2018 Kit I created this card:
The nest die is very detailed and has perforations for you to be able to insert those eggs. I used the three ink cubes to color the nest (direct to paper). Then using the robins egg ink cube I ran it over another piece of card stock a few times and spritzed the card stock with brown ink spray (to make it look like robins eggs). I then die cut the eggs. I also spritzed the background on both panels with Hero Arts ink spray (Pool color). The tree branch was colored with Distress Markers. I stamped the birthday greeting on the top left so I moved the embellishments over to the right. The little leaf die also has a perforation to be able to manipulate it to make it look 3D.
Thanks for stopping by.
Bring on spring! Your lovely colors and talk of robins gives me more than a bit of spring fever. Great card and love your new dies along with the textures you achieved. Thanks for joining us at Tuesday Throwdown this challenge.
Such a pretty card. Love the details and stamp die. Thanks for your entry in our challenge at Tuesday Throwdown Blog. Happy Crafting!
Gorgeous card, Anne. The February Kit you used is super tempting, esp. at half price.
I like how you used the tree branches as the diagonal pieces in the sketch. Very clever.
