Card Making, Challenges, Hero Arts

Cardinal (the bird)

Cardinals are one of my favorite birds – probably because they live here in my neighborhood (they don’t migrate). There are several kinds of cardinals. The type in my neighborhood are Northern Cardinals. Male and female cardinals look different. Male cardinals are typically bright red overall, with a black ring around the beak. Female cardinals are usually predominately brown, with bright red bills and a red crest on the top of their heads (figures the male gets all the beautiful color).

I used the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches for today’s card.

The cardinal and sentiment are from Hero Arts February 2018 Kit and the other items are from my stash.

I have challenged myself to keep using this Hero Arts Kit to create cards. One negative note about this particular kit is that I asked Hero Arts if they could tell me the names of all the birds. They couldn’t. There are 11 birds in the kit and I can only identify three. You would think the artist would know the names of the birds.

In addition to Tuesday Morning Sketches I would like to participate in 2 Crafty Critters Crazies.

Thanks for stopping by.
