SAS4KIDS Christmas In July Blog Hop

Christmas in July Challenge and Blog Hop Celebrating our 175th Challenge!

Welcome to our huge blog hop and celebration of Send A Smile 4 Kids’ 175th Challenge! The theme of our blog hop is Christmas in July 4 Kids because it is never too early to start making holiday cards for all the kids in the many children’s hospitals we now serve. We would love for each child to receive a holiday card as well as be able to pick some for special medical staff or loved ones they are missing during the holiday season.

We have 16 stops in the blog hop and at each stop you have one or two chances at winning – just leave a comment. If you are hopping you should have arrived here from Janet Bailey’s blog. You can also earn a chance to win a prize by commenting on the blog post on our SAS4Kids blog and also by entering your hand made card (for KIDS) to the Christmas in July challenge which starts July 21st and runs through August 3rd at noon.

All rules are listed on the SAS4KIDS challenge page. See a list of all the wonderful sponsors and prizes you could win HERE SAS4KIDS challenge page.

The prize being awarded through my blog is a Stampendous (Spring Borders) die set (oh the possibilities with these dies — right?)prize for hop

Because I used a Paper Nest Doll digi today in my first card, you will have a chance to win Avery Christmas Dress digi.

Now onto today’s cards.

A few years ago I saw a Christmas Tree decorated in Peacock Feathers and colors, it looked absolutely gorgeous, and these colors have been my favorite Christmas colors ever since. I thought I would give it a try with this card.

I used a digi image from Paper Nest Dolls called Christmas Tree Avery. I love how Avery is holding the tree topper in her hand waiting to put it on top of the tree. The sentimet is from Stamps of Life. I used Copic Sketch Markers for coloring and Wink of Stella glitter pens for the ornaments on her dress. For the die cut tree, papers from my stash were used. I inked up some cardstock with Distress Oxides and then die cut the lights and ornaments, I used glitter paper to cut out the string for the ornaments and li,ghts.

And this is the second card. I try to make cards that nothing will fall off. This is a card a little one could carry around with them (they love to do that). I used Stamps of Life Santa2stamp and dies along with the HoHoHo sentiment (this sentiment was part of 2015 Christmas card making kit from Stamps of Life). All were colored with copics, papers from my stash.

Happy Hopping!!

  4. How fun and elegant to have a peacock treee. The feathers are just beautiful and so colorful. Your tree is fancy. I also love your holiday dress~

  5. I love the non-traditional colors in your cards! That Santa card just shines–you almost need sunglasses to look at it! LOL Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂 ~ Andrea

  6. I like the new color combos. I would not have thought of them but wow I really like them. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Anne, These are two great cards that are going to bring huge holiday smiles to their recipients! Thanks for all you do for SAS4Kids.. and Nationwide Children’s. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate what you do for this hospital that is so near and dear to my heart. 🙂

  8. I’m loving your cheery & bright Santa card! And the dress on the first card is so cute! What a coincidence, as I’ve been using that same SU Embossing Folder with purple paper as well! It’s fun! Great job & thanks for sharing!!!

  9. What cute cards! I’ll have to check out the website you got Avery, she’s soooo cute!

  10. The bright colors of the Santa card really caught my eye. Who ever gets that card will be pleased.

  11. The santa card is so cute. The purple Christmas card is wonderful. Such a cute fairy.

  12. First of all, I am a “purple” sorta gal. Love the first card a lot! Some little girl is going to feel so special when she gets that. And the second card is so bright and cheerful! It’s ready to bring a big ‘ol smile to someone’s heart. Nice job!

  13. Sweet cards! Love the decorated tree and darling girl on your first card! And a cute Santa image on your second card!

  14. Love your nontraditional colors. An inspiration to all of us for so many different reasons. Thanks!

  15. Anne these are such cute cards. I never thought about the kids carrying cards around, but if they’re anything like my grandsons they ALWAYS have something in both hands, so it only makes sense that cards would be in their chubby little fists! Thank you for helping bring smiles to their faces!

  16. Great holiday cards, Anne, and so colorful and cheery – no favorite here, as I love both your cards. So nice to be getting an early chance to craft some holiday cards for the kids. Thanks for the time you’ve put into this awesome blog hop.
