Pumpkin Spice Season

It finally feels like FALL here in the Philadelphia area. We had the air conditioner on last week and this week we are turning on the heater. I love that about the Northeast – the four seasons. I am not about leaves – we have four huge trees in our yard and the leaves are just begining to fall (very late this year). So I guess we will be raking until Christmas. I do however love Pumpkin Spice anything!

Here is my card today. The stamp I used on this card reminds me of my daughter who is Vegan but has to have her Pumpkin Spice Lattes!

Tuesday Throwdown 412

The current challenge at Tuesday Throwdown is For A Cause. I love donating my cards to good causes. I am one of many volunteer shippers for Send A Smile 4 Kids and collect donated cards from generous card makers all across our country to send to three hospitals for inpatient children who are seriously ill. I just recently started sending cards to the Vets in Pennsylvania Veterans Homes. I donate cards to a local nursing home at Christmas and also to my church for widows/widowers for Valentine’s Day.

The card I am sharing today will be going to my childhood friend Peggy who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer — cancer in both breasts different kinds of cancer in each breast. Good news is the PET scan was clear. On a side note – if you can’t remember when to get your mammagram choose to do it for your birthday each year and you won’t forget.

Thinking-of-You-Cause-Chall

I used Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers heat embossed with Ranger white detail embossing powder adhered to a Kraft cardbase and colored with Copics. Thinking of You Dies and Stamp are from Casual Fridays.

Boo Ti Ful Halloween

Today I created a Halloween card using a stamp and die set from Sugar Pea Designs called Monster Mash.

I would like to play along at Double Trouble Paper Crafting Challenge #11. The challenge is to use black and white and only one other color (I chose orange). They call it Double Trouble because there is always a twist or two (check them out they are a really fun challenge). One of the twists to to link your card up to  The Crafters Cafe Challenge.

Also I will be playing along with Cards In Envy which is to create Something Spooky. Because I am a volunteer for Send A Smile 4 Kids I like to make non scary kid friendly cards.

I will also be playing along with my friends at Live Love Cards and linking this card up to Darlene’s Halloween Challenge.

This is the first card I am posting as a Challenge Team Member for Stinkin’ Inkers. October’s challenge is “The Eyes Have It”.

October-2018-eyes

The ghost is from Sugar Pea Designs (Monster Mash), the sentiment is from Hampton Arts and the die is from Stamps of Life. The ghost was stamped with white ink from Hero Arts on black cardstock and the “Boo” was heat embossed with Ranger White Detail Embossing powder. Wiggly eyes are from my stash.

I would like to participate in the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge which is to use complementary colors (orange and blue)  and Send A Smile 4 Kids which is to design a Fall or Thankful card for the kids.

Cards In Envy, Die Cut, My Favorite Things, Your Next Stamp (YNS)

Yellow and Black

The current (and almost times up) challenge over at Cards In Envy is Yellow and Black.

CIV-Yellow-and-BlackThe cute little mouse is from Your Next Stamp (cupcake day). The background is a cover plate from MFT (abstract). I stamped birthday in most of the shapes and the shapes that it didn’t fit into I stamped a heart.

Well that is it for me today. This card will be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids.

Thanks for stopping by.

Card Making, Challenges, Die Cut, Little Red Wagon, Tuesday Throwdown

Splatter It

The current challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown is to “Splatter It”. I got out all my different sprays and cut down  a 5.25×4.0 watercolor panel, put the panel in my ink box and spritzed away to create my splatter panel.

Splatters-TT-0818

I let the panel dry overnight. Using the large You die cut from the 2 You’s Casual Fridays (Catherine Pooler) I die cut it into the middle of the splattered panel and adhered it to black card stock. Using white heat embossing powder I embossed the I’m here for onto black card stock, and cut it on an angle before adhering to card. To balance it all out I used some black enamel dots to complete the card.

This was a fun and easy card and fits the bill for a masculine card as well. My brother is going through a tough time dealing with a friend’s illness, so this card is going off to him.

In addition to Tuesday Throwdown I would like to participate in the following challenges:

Addicted To Stamps and MoreMake your mark
Crafty Gals CornerAnything Goes
The Crafty Addicts ChallengeAnything Goes/All About Men and Boys
Little Red WagonOld or New Trends (old trend – ink sprays, new trend – white embossed onto black cardstock for sentiment)
