Time Away Is Over

It is so good to be back. Here is the short version of where I have been since the end of July 2014.  I suffer from a corneal disease as well as chronic dry eye disease which causes me to be in much pain as well as have variations in my vision everyday. It is the basis of depression and a less than fulfilled life. Enough about that. Hopefully from this point forward I can at least make a few cards a month. With faith, prayer (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13) and encouragement from family and friends, doctors, medication and a maintenance program for my eyes everyday, I plan on continuing with my card making. I have missed interacting with my fellow OWH card makers.

So with my vision being good one minute, cloudy and foggy the next, I haven’t been able to stamp straight, measure accurately, etc. — you know — all the things required to make nice professional looking cards. Needless to say my grandchildren’s’ craft box has grown over the last eight months.

So for this card (OWH Sketch 252), digitals (image and papers) from Doodle Pantry called Reel Em In, were used. I thank the Lord for Spellbinders Card Creator – which allows me to have a clean cut base for my cards. Thinking Of You sentiment is from MFT. Waiting to be able to purchase the MISTI (which should help me tremendously with keeping things aligned properly).

OWH Sketch #198

198

This week’s sketch also includes a special offer from Doodle Pantry as part of their supporting efforts of OWH. I love Doodle Pantry images and use them often. Digis are fun because when you get tired of the same old stamps you can find digis online (search for freebies – there are many). If you are in a bind for a certain image you don’t have — digis are a perfect answer. I love the versatility of this offer, also – colored or non colored images and soooooo many sentiments.

So here is my card using one of the Doodle Pantry two for offer. The sentiment is from another stamp set (sorry don’t know the name).  I thought this would make an adorable card for a child no matter what the occasion. Now does that lion really scare you? I can hear his roar more like a purr. Thanks Doodle Pantry for supporting OWH and making this part of a fundraiser to help defray shipping costs by being so generous with donating 70% of the proceeds.
