Valentine Step Up Card

This is my second post today — I have finally been able to catch up with making cards. With the excitement here in the Philadelphia area, and the Eagles winning their first ever Superbowl, we have been celebrating all week and unable to focus on anything else.  Time to get back to normal. I created this card for Send A Smile 4 Kids and I made three more for my Grands.

The step up is a die from Stamps of Life which includes 20 dies. The stamp set I used is from Your Next Stamp,  I couldn’t find the bee mine sentiment which is part of the stamp set so I wrote it in myself. Then I found it stuck to something on my desk (don’t you hate when that happens).

Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday Challenges

This year I want to step out of my comfort zone — make three cards each week and post them to various challenges. I am very picky about the challenges I choose to enter. I am most comfortable with entering challenges that I am familiar with or that I know the card makers who may be on the design team. Being a part of Operation Write Home for five years, I have come to know quite a few bloggers/card makers. I am a shipper for Send A Smile 4 Kids and I know immediately when I receive cards that the card maker was involved with Operation Write Home by the way they insert the cards into the envelopes.

One of the weekly challenges that I want to enter is Tuesday Morning Sketches where Carol (a fellow OWH member and who lives relatively close) is on the Design Team and today I enter this challenge by way of her blog.

Another one of my blogging friends is Debi B and she is on the Tuesday Throwdown DT challenge and one of the faithful card makers for SAS4KIDS. She actually is one of the “Three Musketeers” (a team of local ladies who are always helping me especially in times of crisis. They are Debi B, Sybilla G, and Eileen K). Luckily for me the challenge this week is Anything Goes so I will be entering this card into all three challenges.

I used a new to me stamp from Sweet N Sassy Stamps called Love Birds and various papers from my stash. I paper pierced a few areas on the birds.

Cards In Envy Winter Chills

Sliding in at the last minute to post this card so I can participate in the first challenge of the year over at Cards In Envy (Winter Chills). I used a recently purchased stamp set from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. These stamps were a steal because they came with dies.

The snowflake paper is from GinaK (the other papers from my stash). The doily is a die cut from MFT.

This card will be going to Send a Smile 4 Kids.

Thanks for stopping by!

Down for the Count at Christmas Bah Humbug

December 1, 2017 I started feeling a heaviness in my chest, sore throat and coughing. On Saturday December 2, 2017, I woke up with the worst cough I have ever had in my life. Every muscle used for coughing was hurting. I never realized how many muscles are used. I suffered the weekend and went to my Doctor on Monday – I was prescribed predisone and inhalers. For ten days I sat up straight on my sofa buffered by pillows and blankets. If I lay down to rest all I did was wheeze and cough. By Friday I was no better, I called my Dr and they prescribed a cough medicine and an antibiotic. Still feeling no better by Monday I called another Doctor and they saw me right away — did two breathing treatments, prescribed stronger predisone and the save all was cough medicine with codeine. In one day I was on the mend (I swear it was the breathing treatments).

So here I am at Christmas, no shopping done, no decorating done, and of course no cards made except for those I have been making throughout the summer.

Here is a card I would like to share at Tuesday Throwdown. (Anthing Goes).

The stamps are from Stampendous (Snowy Short Stack) and I fussy cut them out. The papers are from Recollections, the Embossing Folder is from Sizzix. I used Oxide Inks on the Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from a Recollections stamp called Merry Winter.

I would also like to participate in the last challenge at SAS4KIDS this year which is winter fun for kids.

Thanks for stopping by.

Monochromatic, Sketch and Cupcake

Hope everyone enjoyed their family and friends yesterday.

Today I created a card using three different challenge themes. First I chose the sketch at Little Red Wagon – then I chose to go monochromatic using Seize the Birthday theme and finally I chose to use a cupcake as the focal point which is the challenge over at Cardz 4 Galz. Here is my card.

The cupcake and cherry on top are from Stamps by Judith and Heather, the card base is from GinaK, ribbon from Stamps of Life, sentiment from MFT, and the embellishments are dazzle stickers. I also used Wink of Stella on the cherry.

This card will be going to SAS4KIDS (I am a shipper).

Tuesday Throwdown Shaker Card

The challenge this week over at Tuesday Throwdown is to make a shaker card. So for me this is a real challenge. I haven’t made many shaker cards because I dislike all those little bits you put into the shaker (much the same reason that I don’t care for glitter). So here is my attempt for this week’s challenge:

I somewhat cased this card from somewhere in cyber land. The stamps and sentiment are from Verve Stamps and everything else is from my stash.

This card will be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids (I am a shipper).

Owls

Our street was a dead end when we moved into our home 40 years ago. There were five houses on our street and at the end was a wooded area. At night we would hear an owl and it was so soothing when you turned over in bed in the middle of the night. We never got to see him but we certainly heard him. Then twelve years ago, new construction came in and a 55+ community took down our precious woods, and our friendly owl left.

The challenge over at Little Red Wagon this week is Owl about me. Here is my card:

All products used are from Gina K Designs (Friends til the end stamp set) and the owl was colored with copics.

In addition to Little Red Wagon, I would also like to participate in the following challenges:

Crafting By Designs – Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner – Harvest Colors
Creative Moments – Anything Goes
Inspiration Destination – Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by.

Red Red and More Red

This card was inspired by the challenge over at Little Red Wagon – What’s Red All Over (I will be participating in this challenge).

The digital image and sentiment are from Digi Stamp Boutique, papers are from my stash, heart edge punch is from Martha Stewart. The card will be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids (I am a shipper).

I would also like to participate in Dragonfly Dreams (fully loaded).

Thanks for taking a look.

Halloween Fun

Cards In Envy’s current challenge is Let’s Dress Up (Halloween Costumes). My stack of Halloween Cards will be added to the box of cards from other card makers and mailed tomorrow to the hospitals that I currently ship for SAS4KIDS.

This stamp set and dies are from Sugar Pea Designs (Monster Mash), I also used a die from Stamps of Life (Pumpkin Fold It) to create the pumpkin background. The papers are from my stash. Copics were used to color the monsters.

In addition to Cards In Envy I would like to participate in the following challenges:

Stinkin Inking – Monthly challenge – Monster Mash
Crafting By Designs – Weekly challenge – Halloween
Crafty Calendar – Monthly challenge – Halloween

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
