Rainbow Card Challenge #1

Scrolling through some of my favorite bloggers yesterday I was very excited when I came upon a brand new challenge – The Rainbow Card Challenge. The theme this month is Red Romance. Sorry the image is a little glaring (dreary day here in the NE).

I used versa mark ink and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flower image and embossed with gold detail embossing powder onto red cardstock (MFT). I used a prisma color white pencil to color in some of the flowers. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

In addition to shipping cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids I donate handmade cards to Nursing Homes and two Veteran’s Homes in PA, (Philadelphia and Erie). This card will be going to one of the Nursing Homes.

I would also like to participate in the following challenges:

Crafting By Designs – Anything Goes
Ellibelle’s Corner – Sparkle and Shine

Stinkin’ Inkers Just Because

I love sending cards for no reason or to let someone know I am thinking of them. They could be sick or going through some tough times. Sending a card can lift their spirits for just a moment and may arrive in their mailbox just at the right time.

Create Your Own Background

The current challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown is to create your own background. I love the look of watercolor backgrounds but never seem to achieve the look. My goal for participating in challenges is to “CHALLENGE” myself. So I found my ink pads and went to work on creating the background on this card.

I used Distress Inks and when it dried I stamped the images from SSS Spring Flowers stamps in Versa Mark Ink and then embossed with white detail embossing powder. I cut the frame using MFT Blueprints 27 and the sentiment is from Verve Stamps Floral Notes also embossed with the powder.

I was very sad to learn that Verve Stamps will be closing their shop the end of June. Go over to Verve Stamps site to receive 55% off.
