Stamps of Life, Stinkin Inkers

You’re The Man

This month over at Stinkin Inkers Challenge Blog the theme is to make a project for a man or a boy.

The Stamp Set from Stamps of Life this month was a BBQ set and I made this card:

I used Kraft cardstock for the beach and added dots to represent sand. The dune grass stamp is from an older set from GinaK. The cloud cardstock is also from Stamps of Life as well as the twine. I needed something up there in that right hand corner so I used those “Candy Stripe Dots” from Queen and Company (I like the contrast of the dots on the cloud paper to the stripes on the embellishments).

This card will be going to my son for his birthday which is on Sunday.

Why not pop over to Stinkin Inkers and join in the fun.

Words 2 Craft By #53

It has been a long time since I have had the time to play along at Words 2 Craft By. I know a few of the ladies who are involved in this group from my days creating cards for Operation Write Home. The words for this month If you can read this, thank a teacher.

I can recall quite a few teachers who had a profound influence in my life. Most of them are from my high school days. In my Senior Year I had a history teacher (Miss Miller) who taught us about voting. It was a very significant year (1971) because the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18. She gave us all the whys and hows of voting, what a privilege it was to vote, not a right but a privilege and also an obligation. She told us if you want to be part of history you must vote. The 26th Amendment became part of the Constitution on July 1, 1971 (a month after I graduated).

Needless to say, the following year (1972) Richard M. Nixon was voted in as our new President and the rest is history. I have to say because of Miss Miller I was so engrossed in all the news articles, TV news reports, magazines during his Presidency, and boy oh boy there sure was a lot going on (if you are old enough to remember). Had I not had her as a teacher I don’t think voting would have had the impact it has had on my life.

This card is for Miss Miller:

The apple, papers and ribbon are from Stamps of Life. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Tuesday Throwdown on a Friday

Playing catch up with challenges I love to participate in. This card was created for the “Sweets” challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown.

Donuts2Stamp stamps and dies from Stamps of Life were used to create this card, colored with copics and you can’t see in the photo but I covered all the icing on the donuts with Wink of Stella. Sequins were from my stash and I also used My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 to create the panel.

Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Step Up Card

This is my second post today — I have finally been able to catch up with making cards. With the excitement here in the Philadelphia area, and the Eagles winning their first ever Superbowl, we have been celebrating all week and unable to focus on anything else.  Time to get back to normal. I created this card for Send A Smile 4 Kids and I made three more for my Grands.

The step up is a die from Stamps of Life which includes 20 dies. The stamp set I used is from Your Next Stamp,  I couldn’t find the bee mine sentiment which is part of the stamp set so I wrote it in myself. Then I found it stuck to something on my desk (don’t you hate when that happens).

Thanksgiving Place Cards

Now that the big meal is over I wanted to share some of the “leftover” place cards left at the table on Thanksgiving. I have something to say about that. How dare they leave them, weren’t they just the best thing of the whole day. After all, ink, die cutting, paper cuts, measuring and most importantly prayers were involved in each and every one of them. Enjoy!

The place cards were made using Stamps of Life and Dies, the “Thankful for you!” sentiment is from GinaK. I colored all the pilgrims with Copics and hand wrote the names using Copic Multiliner 0.25.

I would like to participate in the following challenges:

The Rubber Buggy Challenge (new stamp resource for me) – Thanksgiving
Sunsational Stamps Challenge (another new resource for me) – Thanksgiving

Thanks for stopping by to look at my “leftovers”. It always tastes best when it is over. Be Blessed.

Monochromatic, Sketch and Cupcake

Hope everyone enjoyed their family and friends yesterday.

Today I created a card using three different challenge themes. First I chose the sketch at Little Red Wagon – then I chose to go monochromatic using Seize the Birthday theme and finally I chose to use a cupcake as the focal point which is the challenge over at Cardz 4 Galz. Here is my card.

The cupcake and cherry on top are from Stamps by Judith and Heather, the card base is from GinaK, ribbon from Stamps of Life, sentiment from MFT, and the embellishments are dazzle stickers. I also used Wink of Stella on the cherry.

This card will be going to SAS4KIDS (I am a shipper).

Pumpkins

This is my second post today. Stamps of Life came out with a new fold-it card in the shape of a pumpkin. When I saw it I just had to have it. I have been creating all sorts of shaped pumpkin cards for the kids at SAS4KIDS.  This pumpkin is made into a Halloween Card.

I would like to participate in the following challenges:

Come and Get It – Add a pumpkin
Cupcake Inspiration – Color challenge

Halloween Fun

Cards In Envy’s current challenge is Let’s Dress Up (Halloween Costumes). My stack of Halloween Cards will be added to the box of cards from other card makers and mailed tomorrow to the hospitals that I currently ship for SAS4KIDS.

This stamp set and dies are from Sugar Pea Designs (Monster Mash), I also used a die from Stamps of Life (Pumpkin Fold It) to create the pumpkin background. The papers are from my stash. Copics were used to color the monsters.

In addition to Cards In Envy I would like to participate in the following challenges:

Stinkin Inking – Monthly challenge – Monster Mash
Crafting By Designs – Weekly challenge – Halloween
Crafty Calendar – Monthly challenge – Halloween

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
