Down The Shore

In the Philadelphia area when you want to go to the beach you head “Down the Shore”. I used the adorable Paper Nest Dolls digi “Beach Ball Emma” and created a scene using the My Monthly Hero June Kit (sold out).

I just love the sand embossing powder that came with the kit and used it for the Hello greeting and footprints. I created the beach using Copic markers. Emma was colored with Copics and I added the sea shell adornment in Emma’s hair which came with the MMH kit.

This card is shipping off to Send A Smile 4 Kids – I am a shipper and ship to four different hospitals.

Turtle or Tortoise

The main difference between a turtle and a tortoise is that the tortoise lives on land. A turtle is omnivorous (feeds on both plant and animal) and the tortoise is vegetarian.

My daughter has had a desert turtle since it was a baby and now has grown to full size – she has had it for 15 years. Desert turtles can withstand heat because they were made to survive by burrowing themselves in the ground and they live on vegetation. So her turtle has borrowed himself in her backyard and lives a very comfortable life feeding off of plants and her offerings of kale and other greens.

The Die Cuttin Divas challenge caught my eye this week – use a turtle. Here is my card.

It’s a turtle girl. This image and sentiment is an old stamp set from MFT which has gone bye-bye. I colored her in using Copic Markers and die cut her out. The papers are from my stash. The flowers were created using a punch and I added the sequins to add a little bling.

Tuesday Throwdown’s current challenge is tic-tac-toe and I chose the last column – die cut, florals, sequins. This card will be shipping off to Send A Smile 4 Kids (I am a volunteer shipper).

Take a moment to reflect on those who have served our country. Thanks for stopping by and have a safe Memorial Day Weekend.
