Digital Image, Send A Smile 4 Kids

Leaf All Your Cares Behind

I created this card using the Leaf All Your Cares Behind digi set from Dee Dee’s Digis. Isn’t he a happy fellow? I decided to make this into a shaker card. I cut out his torso using an exacto knife and then taking a sharpie ran it around the cut edge to cover up any white showing from the cut. The sentiment is from the set.

Sept-MonthlyI have until midnight to link it up to the digi blog (nothing like waiting til the last minute). I am also linking this up to Send A Smile 4 Kids and to Fabulous Fuse Tool Ideas on Facebook.

Here is a close up of the shaker part.

sept-monthly-shakerI am happy with how this turned out and answered a question for myself. Can I use a digi image to make a Shaker Card? Why yes I can!

Cards In Envy

Cards In Envy’s Challenge this month is Inspired By A Song. I am a Beatles girl. I mean I was one of those screaming young girls when they came to the United States back in the 60’s. When I was in sixth grade one of my friends had a Beatles inspired birthday sleepover and all we did the entire night was talk about John, Paul, George and Ringo. The White Album came out in 1968 and was quite the hit. There was one song on it called Rocky Raccoon. It’s one of those silly songs that when you hear it, it plays over and over in your mind. You can check out the lyrics here.

I purchased GinaK Designs Autumn Wishes Stamptv Kit and in it one of the stamps is a raccoon. As soon as I stamped the image, the song  Rocky Raccoon started playing in my head. So the inspiration for my card.

Cards In Envy

I was NOT going to jump on the shaker card bandwagon. Guess what? I am hooked or should I say shaken? The cards are fun and easy to make with the fuse tool. You don’t have to worry about the shaker materials coming out or the card falling apart.

So Rocky was stamped and colored with Copics, cut out with the matching die and mounted on foam. To make the two leaves I first stamped one of the trees onto white cardstock using Memento Peanut Brittle and Memento Tangelo then I die cut them with the cute leaf that comes in the kit. The papers and sentiment are from the kit as well. I used a woodgrain background stamp for the card layer.
