Up In The Air

Our oldest son lives in a rural area and close to a little airport that offers hot air balloon rides (no thank you). When we visit when it is getting closer to sunset we like to sit out on his deck and watch the hot air balloons. They are so beautiful and peaceful to look at.

Tuesday Throwdown‘s current challenge is Up In The Air. Here is my card.

I used an outline sticker from Krazy Kreations adhered it to glittered cardstock (SSS) and colored it with copic markers. Sometimes the sticker doesn’t adhere very well but I add the smallest amount of glue to help it along. Then I fussy cut it out. The cloud paper was from my stash and I ran it through the cuttlebug using the birthday embossing folder (my favorite). The critters are from Your Next Stamp and the grass is a stamp from Stamps by Judith.

I am a shipper for Send A Smile 4 Kids and this will be going to them.

I purchased a kit from Krazy Kreations because I wanted to try out coloring with copics on glitter paper. I really enjoyed it. The glitter paper is quite expensive and I have read on some blogs and reviews that you can ruin your copics by coloring on glitter paper. I tried it anyway and I figure I can always replace the nibs if they get too worn out.  Here is the card:

I adhered the shoes, broom and stars to the glitter paper, colored them with copics and then fussy cut them out.  So what I learned from purchasing this kit is that I still love, love, love outline stickers, I can’t spend that much money for glitter paper, and using microfine glitter and burnishing it in and all that business is just too, too messy for this card maker.
