New Birthday Buddy #4

On the side bar I list that I am a member of Live Love Cards. I have been for about 2 years. I learn so much from everyone in this card community. This year they started a birthday club. When you sign up you are sent a list of everyone that has a birthday in the same month as yours. This card is for Kathy who lives in Ohio.

Tuesday Throwdown’s Challenge this week is Birthday and their sponsor is Power Poppy, so I used this set to make the birthday card. I used this same set in the post here. I made the background on watecolor cardstock using the smooshing technique, embossed the cardstock. The image was embossed with fine detail embossing powder (white) and then sponged with ink. The greeting is from the same set.

Mother's Day, My Favorite Things

Single Moms Mother’s Day 2

Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her! Luke 1:45

I used this verse on Mother’s Day cards for single moms at our church to encourage these single moms to have faith. The whole story of Elizabeth and Mary shows us the need for relationships within our families to help us out. It also shows what the dwelling of the Holy Spirit can do – Elizabeth had unexpected insight into Mary’s faith. This was a very joyous moment for Elizabeth and Mary. Knowing the rest of the story Mary and Elizabeth were to experience much sorrow years later. This also shows the joy the Holy Spirit gives us, as well as grace to bear sorrow or pain.

The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to us to enable us to know and experience the presence of God residing in us. We can live everyday joyfully knowing God’s indwelling presence is always with us through His Holy Spirit?

Prayer for the single mom as she opens this card: “Lord, fill this mom with your Holy Spirit and give her joy in seeking you more closely. Increase her faith in all your promises, her hope in the joys of heaven, and her love for You as her everything.”
