Card Making

Adding interest to your cards…

Yesterday’s subject on OWH’s Design Bootcamp was all about adding different elements to your cards to add interest (contrasts of darks/lights, textures, colors, shapes and sizes). Here is my attempt at adding interest to some cards.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

For the card above, I used yellow and black (contrast darks/lights), I used a cuttlebug ef to emboss clouds under the kite (texture) , the kite is a die cut image (shape) using yellow/green, popped up with pop dots. I added a touch of green for the sentiment as well as the kite bows to tie into the outline of the kite. Another bow was added (after I took the photo I noticed I missed one – see blue card below).

  1. What a cute die-cut kite! The kite bows are such a nice detail and I really like the green and blue combo. I think it says ‘blue skies’ to me and that ties it in so well with the kite. The black outlining in the blue kite really helps to give it a distinct shape and nice dimension too. Thanks for joining in on the May Bootcamp!
