Cards In Envy – Feeling Sketchy

Cards In Envy’s current challenge is to share your favorite sketch. I have a story (what else is new) about my favorite sketch. I had been eyeing up Melanie Muenchinger’s Fabulous Frame stamp from GinaK Designs for quite some time before I decided to purchase it. After purchasing it, I played and played with it trying to get it to stamp straight, stamp without smudges, stamp completely without any misses – you know the drill. I tried different acrylic blocks, I tried using my Fiskars stamp positioner,  I tried using the Misti, I watched Melanie’s videos over and over again, nothing worked. I used Memento Ink, I used Versa Fine Ink, I even tried masking it off with no success. I finally gave up. But, I loved, loved, loved the design, the flower, butterflies and sentiments. So I decided to make my own sketch.

The Stamp Set:                                                                              This is my sketch:

Here is the card:

On this card the card base itself is lavender. I adhered the paper pieces onto black card stock making sure to leave a sliver of black around the pieces – I believe that is what I like so much about the design. The black frame was die cut using MFT Blueprints 27, and the papers are from GinaK. I colored in the Rhododendron flower using copics.

The Rhododendrons are in full bloom here in PA and this card will go nicely with the Shopping Our Stash Challenge (April showers bring May flowers), also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
