Tuesday Morning Sketches 478

There is a new sketch up over at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Here is my card:

tues-morn-sketches

I used one of the kits in the new Scrapping For Less Flavor of the Month from Pink and Main to create my card along with the cardstock and designer papers included. The flag banner on the upper right corner of the card is from GinaK – Holiday Frame Fillers and then it is cut out using Scan and Cut.

I am also linking this card up to the Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge, Happy Holidays for Kids or Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Shabby Chic

The current challenge over at Little Red Wagon is to make a shabby chic card. Way out of my comfort zone, but I gave it a whirl. Here is the card.

Using Tim Holtz distressed edge tool helped me to create the edges around all the panels. The papers are from a fellow card maker called Butterfly Garden by Pink Paislee. Sentiment from GinaK, Tag from Spellbinders. Flowers and ribbon Recollections. Lace Tim Holtz collection. Also used tea dye distressed ink to “shabbisize” all the elements.

This was great fun and I think I may make a few more.

Cards In Envy – Feeling Sketchy

Cards In Envy’s current challenge is to share your favorite sketch. I have a story (what else is new) about my favorite sketch. I had been eyeing up Melanie Muenchinger’s Fabulous Frame stamp from GinaK Designs for quite some time before I decided to purchase it. After purchasing it, I played and played with it trying to get it to stamp straight, stamp without smudges, stamp completely without any misses – you know the drill. I tried different acrylic blocks, I tried using my Fiskars stamp positioner,  I tried using the Misti, I watched Melanie’s videos over and over again, nothing worked. I used Memento Ink, I used Versa Fine Ink, I even tried masking it off with no success. I finally gave up. But, I loved, loved, loved the design, the flower, butterflies and sentiments. So I decided to make my own sketch.

The Stamp Set:                                                                              This is my sketch:

Here is the card:

On this card the card base itself is lavender. I adhered the paper pieces onto black card stock making sure to leave a sliver of black around the pieces – I believe that is what I like so much about the design. The black frame was die cut using MFT Blueprints 27, and the papers are from GinaK. I colored in the Rhododendron flower using copics.

The Rhododendrons are in full bloom here in PA and this card will go nicely with the Shopping Our Stash Challenge (April showers bring May flowers), also.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Feathers for the Guys

Continuing the challenge I set for myself (to keep using Hero Arts February 2018 kit to create cards), I created this card using the sketch over at  Cardz4Guyz challenge.

I spritzed the background with Hero Arts Ink Spray (Pool) and colored the feathers with the inks that came with the kit and also Ombre Mermaid. After cutting the feathers with the dies that came with the kit, I placed them on the spritzed panel using the sketch as a guide. The sentiment is from GinaK Designs.  I then placed the panel onto the card base (sorry don’t know which card stock that is).

In addition to Cardz4Guyz I would like to participate in the following challenges:

As You Like It – Single or Multiple (layers). Single, I like clean and simple cards.
4 Crafty Chicks – Just add a Sentiment
Through the Purple Haze – Anything Goes

Cards In Envy Winter Chills

Sliding in at the last minute to post this card so I can participate in the first challenge of the year over at Cards In Envy (Winter Chills). I used a recently purchased stamp set from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. These stamps were a steal because they came with dies.

The snowflake paper is from GinaK (the other papers from my stash). The doily is a die cut from MFT.

This card will be going to Send a Smile 4 Kids.

Christmas, Circle Frames and Singing

Today’s Christmas Card features a black and white theme (full disclosure – this card was cased). I would like to enter this card into the Cards In Envy Challenge (Framed with Circles), Always Fun Challenges (A Christmas Carol).

I used papers from my stash and the Verve Stamp Set (Jolly Jingles), the heart border was created using a Martha Stewart Heart punch. The circle frames are SSS and the card base is GinaK Designs. The music background stamp is from MFT. I really enjoyed this card because no coloring was involved and it was simple to put together.

In addition, I would like to participate in the following challenges:

Words 2 Craft ByChristmas
Die Cuttin DivasHoliday
Sparkles Christmas Challenges: Snowmen

Thanksgiving Place Cards

Now that the big meal is over I wanted to share some of the “leftover” place cards left at the table on Thanksgiving. I have something to say about that. How dare they leave them, weren’t they just the best thing of the whole day. After all, ink, die cutting, paper cuts, measuring and most importantly prayers were involved in each and every one of them. Enjoy!

The place cards were made using Stamps of Life and Dies, the “Thankful for you!” sentiment is from GinaK. I colored all the pilgrims with Copics and hand wrote the names using Copic Multiliner 0.25.

I would like to participate in the following challenges:

The Rubber Buggy Challenge (new stamp resource for me) – Thanksgiving
Sunsational Stamps Challenge (another new resource for me) – Thanksgiving

Thanks for stopping by to look at my “leftovers”. It always tastes best when it is over. Be Blessed.

Monochromatic, Sketch and Cupcake

Hope everyone enjoyed their family and friends yesterday.

Today I created a card using three different challenge themes. First I chose the sketch at Little Red Wagon – then I chose to go monochromatic using Seize the Birthday theme and finally I chose to use a cupcake as the focal point which is the challenge over at Cardz 4 Galz. Here is my card.

The cupcake and cherry on top are from Stamps by Judith and Heather, the card base is from GinaK, ribbon from Stamps of Life, sentiment from MFT, and the embellishments are dazzle stickers. I also used Wink of Stella on the cherry.

This card will be going to SAS4KIDS (I am a shipper).

Owls

Our street was a dead end when we moved into our home 40 years ago. There were five houses on our street and at the end was a wooded area. At night we would hear an owl and it was so soothing when you turned over in bed in the middle of the night. We never got to see him but we certainly heard him. Then twelve years ago, new construction came in and a 55+ community took down our precious woods, and our friendly owl left.

The challenge over at Little Red Wagon this week is Owl about me. Here is my card:

All products used are from Gina K Designs (Friends til the end stamp set) and the owl was colored with copics.

In addition to Little Red Wagon, I would also like to participate in the following challenges:

Crafting By Designs – Anything Goes
Crafty Gals Corner – Harvest Colors
Creative Moments – Anything Goes
Inspiration Destination – Anything Goes
