The Midweek Throwdown Challenge on OWH this week is things with wings. Also, this month’s Bootcamp is titled Let Me Repeat. I’ve been trying to “think outside the box” and trying to find inspiration for my cards in everyday things that surrounds me. One of my favorite kitchen items is “Temptations” Ovenware. This is a photo of one of their new pieces.
With lots and lots of trial and error here are my cards. The first card was inspired by the photo above (the ovenware). I embossed the daisies (MFT) in white, and added the centers using the same paper as the strip across the top (let me repeat). The things with wings is the obvious ladybug.
The second card also inspired by the ovenware, I clear embossed the daisies (MFT) on black cardstock, used matching die to cut out and used a white gel pen to color in the daisy. The center flower (GinaK Designs) was colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and popped up. The three centers on the flowers I used dies from MFT Blueprints 3 for the centers, as well as the ribbon strip and bow at the top.
What a fun idea to look to the things surrounding you for design inspiration! These cards are so cheerful looking with the yellow and green color combo and the black & white checks add a nice pop of contrast too.
